That's probably not the safest mix of versions - Pango 1.2 is pretty old
(current is 1.6.0), and the combination of a fairly current Gtk+ 2.4
with an old Glib 2.0 is asking for trouble...

You might want to try using current versions of Pango and Glib... the
former is probably the cause (compiling against a too-recent version of
Freetype), but Glib probably should be one the same 2.4 series as Gtk+.
