What's going on. Can someone translate this? 'Instantiated'?? Whassat?

BTW, should I report this compiler message as a bug?

full bug report.

Surely that should check machine dates, and stop urging me top send in 
bug reports after 6 months.. This is gcc-2.95, which is long past
development. What are they on now - gcc-3.3.x? If they got all the full
bug reports they asked for..... they'd have about 200 from me at this
