So you probably didn't install libgsf.  No big deal there.  Get version
1.8.1 (should still be the latest version) from ftp.gnome.org and give
it the same arguments you've been passing to all the other gnome
packages.

It's likely you did install libart but just don't know it.  libart_lgpl
is the actual name of the package.  You may be misinterpreting the
output of configure.  (don't cut out quite so much if installing libgsf
doesn't fix things)
