Just found the following out:
The configure script from db will might when configuring with --enable-java
and some java compiler

db-4.1.24 with gcj or sun's javac: works
db-4.0.14 with sun's javac: works
db-4.0.14 with gcj: does not work

This means: When trying to compile db-4.0.14 you must not use --enable-java as
long as you don't have sun's java compiler. The gcj works only with db-4.1.24
but this one fails with postfix or sendmail.
