Your results arent valid. you should use a bigger test file (I suggest
496MB ;-) The figures you have there are evidently served from disc
cache, and about an order of magnitude too high. Rough estimate is the
test should use 2xRAM sized files.

I think this should move to lfs.chat, but before it does, does anyone
want to submit their own bonnie++ results?

so far, we have:

             -------Sequential Output-------- ---Sequential Input--
-Per Char- --Block--- -Rewrite-- -Per Char- --Block---
Machine MB K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU
K /sec %CPU
A 100 26708 98.1 388265 100.1 359183 99.3 25465 99.9 577477
32604.4 97.0
B 496M 18993 91 46772 33 14300 10 18905 85 35090 17
185.1 0

both of which are invalid, because A is too high and B is a duff drive.

I'll redo my results when I get the new one. anyone else want to join
