Error compiling Abiword

Can you send me the full compile line that bombs?  I usally go to the
directory where make failed, in this case
/usr/src/abiword-1.0.3/abi/src/wp/main/unix and then I fiddle with
the make file.  I don't see any -L/usr/X11R6/lib in the compile line
above.  Maybe that is why make cannot file libXext.  You could try

CFLAGS="$CFLAGS -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lXext" make
