Addition, just in case it is still there, sorry I forgot you might
have something set here.
Make sure bash does not have any mail information:

unset MAIL MAILPATH    # has precedence over MAILCHECK
export MAILCHECK="-1"  # anything <= zero

Definitly all I know how to get rid of it.
