Hi,

when I try to compile the binutils in a later section of the LFS book it
aborts with

--snip--
make[3]: Entering directory `/usr/src/binutils-2.10/opcodes'
/bin/sh ./libtool --mode=link gcc -O3 -march=i586 -o libopcodes.la
-rpath /usr/lib -release 2.10 dis-buf.lo disassemble.lo i386-dis.lo
mkdir .libs
gcc -shared dis-buf.lo disassemble.lo i386-dis.lo -lc -Wl,-soname
-Wl,libopcodes-2.10.so -o .libs/libopcodes-2.10.so
/usr/bin/ld:disassemble.lo: file format not recognized; treating as
linker script
/usr/bin/ld:disassemble.lo:2: parse error

--snap--

What does this mean?

Krischan.
