Xorg -configure hangs

Not sure if you have found the solution yet to the issue with the
vmware driver (xf86-video-vmware 10.16.8) yet, but I have found that
applying the patch in this bug

fixes it for me.  I had it locking up for me on two different systems
until I applied the patch.
