Please, explain.

It's not that I'm lazy and can't do the research. It's just that if
folks offer information, I'd like to hear the foundation for it.

Because Mommy said so, only goes so far.

If automount could do everything dbus/hal can (and I'm not just 
talking about mounting a disk volume), why is there such complication,
energy, and changes being devoted to something that already was in
place and working?
