Users making typos is an easy support request. Trying to field a
good answer for "I ran ldd against this library and it reported
a warning message saying the file wasn't executable" brings issues.
Because "Ah, don't worry about it, it's a bogus warning message"
isn't too convincing.

This is in LFS territory. Please send any further messages along
these lines (including bitching about their changing permissions
of .so files to executable) to the appropriate list (lfs-dev).
