Actually, the standard method for generating PDF files from the XML
sources in the (B)LFS books is using FOP. Alternatively, you could
probably install PassiveTeX into a TeTeX or LiveTeX installation
and create the PDFs as well, though I've never installed or used
PassiveTeX.
