This should have been addressed to blfs-support instead of blfs-dev.

Usually the cause of this problem was that your /etc/fonts/local.conf
was not setup correctly, and it is mentioned in
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/svn/x/xfree86-setup.html
