Using the current book instructions for xfsprogs-2.3.9 (instead of 2.0.3
as is in the book) results in the binaries being installed to
/usr/local/bin and /usr/local/sbin. This means that the checkfs startup
script reports that it can't find fsck.xfs as it quite rightly expects
it to be in /sbin. I wasn't sure of the exact correct solution to this
although passing --prefix=/ to the configure script put the binaries
into /sbin and /bin respectively.

Hope this helps others with similar issues,
