The makefile needs to be modified because the installbin.sh script was
written apparently before the --with-fhs option was added to the configure
scripts, and it only passes BASEDIR to the script, as you have seen.
It'll need to be modded to pass either CONFIGDIR or PRIVATEDIR instead, of
