 Ahh..now I understand.  gnutls has no c_rehash, so the links will not be
 created as when installed with OpenSSL...but yes, as you stated, it is "a
 moot point."   gnutls can use only the CAFile whereas OpenSSL can use
 either CAFile or CAPath.

 On my report of breakage earlier, IIRC, it was the certificate information
 output that is broken when using CAFile with the s_client command.  I
 think it displayed the first cert in the file, regardless of which cert
 was being verified when you display info, or something to that effect.  At
 any rate, c_rehash will break with ca-certificates.crt in /etc/ssl/certs
 because some links will point to the file and others to the individual
 certs (giving the same output errors).  Maybe it's been fixed since, but I
 still think they should be separated as there is no way to fix c_rehash.
