In fact you're right; if I install libxfce4util without 
"--sysconfdir=/etc" and don't export /etc/xdg to XDG_CONFIG_DIRS XFce is 
broken again.

P.S. I read about upgrading about Firefox and Thunderbird, which can be 
built localized from source (de facto, I built Firefox-2.0.1 and 
Thunderbird-2.0a localized in italian), shouldn't be added this info in 
the book?
