#1850: autofs dependency on SMB/NFS kernel parameters is optional
-------------------------------------+--------------------------------------

     Type: enhancement | Status: new
 Priority: normal | Milestone: 6.2
Component: BOOK | Version: a-SVN
 Severity: normal | Keywords:
-------------------------------------+--------------------------------------
My testing indicates that autofs works without the SMB and NFS filesystems
configured into the kernel if you are not using these types of shares. I
am happily using it for floppy and cdrom. I have no shares available to
 connect to.

I do not know if this used to be needed and was changed at some point. I
 am on kernel 2.6.15.6.

Your call if you want to update the book.
