Why is Gimp-Print now recommended for the Gimp package?

Isn't this taking the "Recommended" recommendation a bit far?

What is wrong with the way it was? Having --disable-print and
Gimp-print being Optional seems perfectly sane to me.

I think we are taking this a bit far, recommending dependencies
because (and I'm guessing here) we think that folks won't read
the command explanations and remove the switches if they need

I think it is excessive and overly-babying the book.
