The test log is capuring the output of true which is not very helpful.
I think the command generated by jhalfs should be:

   (make -k check || true) >> $TEST_LOG 2>&1 || true

which should work any time the book has <userinput remap="test">

Does anyone want to make a stab at fixing this?  It's probably just a
small change to LFS/lfs.xsl.
