Because it makes more sense to keep all the steps related to a 
particular package together, especially if you're using <unpack> to do 
the download/digest-check... you don't really want to unpack all the 
sources at the beginning, and you can't do that for the second part of 
an LFS build anyway because it needs to be done inside the chroot() 
environment.
