hi ppl

i could be wrong, but i gnoticed in the lfs command scripts that apply
a patch, seem to fail patchin cos...

a: the patch is called from within the applications directory, ie.,
/lfs/usr/src/gcc-2.95.3 or whatever, and...

b: the patch attempts to patch the application from the /lfs/usr/src

at least it seems to be why the tar patch fails. i didn't gnotice the
other patches failin.

anyway, i'm writin a script that will install all chapter4, 5. i'm
assumin that the parent distro is mandrake 8.1. this way i can
import the linux.conf settins, cos mandrake seems to make very
inteligent assumptions about installed hardware.

one question, unless i find out my self. if i were to call the installation
scripts from another script, and the installation script fails in
anyway, ie., a statement returns an error, can the installation script
exit to the root script. so that no more attempts are made to install
any other packages?
