Nope, I don't want to get rid of them. Like I said (a few times already :),
I like that <register_tag>, autoloading etc.
I just wanted to improve (by _adding_, not replacing anything) ALFS.pm,
so that Perl function could be used where <register_tag> is now. That's all.
