Introduction to VTE

The VTE package contains a termcap file implementation for terminal emulators.

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS-9.0 platform.

Installation of VTE

Install VTE by running the following commands:

./configure --prefix=/usr          \
            --sysconfdir=/etc      \
            --disable-static       &&
make

To test the results, issue make check.

Now, as the root user:

make install

Command Explanations

--disable-static: This switch prevents installation of static versions of the libraries.

--without-gnutls: Add this switch if you don't have GnuTLS-3.6.9 installed.

--enable-vala=no: Add this switch if you don't have Vala-0.44.7 installed.

--enable-gtk-doc: Use this parameter if GTK-Doc is installed and you wish to rebuild and install the API documentation.
