Introduction to libgpg-error

The libgpg-error package contains a library that defines common error values for all GnuPG components.

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS-9.0 platform.

Installation of libgpg-error

First apply a sed to allow building with gawk-5.0:

sed -i 's/namespace/pkg_&/' src/Makefile.{am,in} src/mkstrtable.awk

Install libgpg-error by running the following commands:

./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make

To test the results, issue: make check.

Now, as the root user:

make install &&
install -v -m644 -D README /usr/share/doc/libgpg-error-1.36/README

Short Descriptions

gpg-error

is used to determine libgpg-error error codes.

gpg-error-config

is a utility used to configure and build applications based on the libgpg-error library. It can be used to query the C compiler and linker flags which are required to correctly compile and link the application against the libgpg-error library.

gpgrt-config

is the same script as gpg-error-config.

yat2m

extracts man pages from a Texinfo source.

libgpg-error.so

contains the libgpg-error API functions.
