gst-plugins-bad-1.12.2

Introduction to GStreamer Bad Plug-ins

The GStreamer Bad Plug-ins package contains a set of plug-ins that aren't up to par compared to the rest. They might be close to being good quality, but they're missing something - be it a good code review, some documentation, a set of tests, a real live maintainer, or some actual wide use.

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS-8.1 platform.

Installation of GStreamer Bad Plug-ins

[Note]

Note

If you need a plugin for a given dependency, that dependency needs to be installed before this application.

Install GStreamer Bad Plug-ins by running the following commands:

sed -i 's/openjpeg-2.1/openjpeg-2.2/' -i ext/openjpeg/gstopenjpeg.h &&

./configure --prefix=/usr     \
            --disable-wayland \
            --disable-opencv  \
            --with-package-name="GStreamer Bad Plugins 1.12.2 BLFS" \
            --with-package-origin="http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/svn/" &&
make

To test the results, issue: make check. Several tests need a terminal emulator in a graphical session. Up to eight tests are known to fail.

Now, as the root user:

make install

Command Explanations

sed -i 's/openjpeg-2.1/openjpeg-2.2/' ...: This version of the package does not know of openjpeg-2.2 and thinks it is v2.1 - the sed allows it to find the correctly versioned header. Omit this if you are using the old openjpeg-2.1.

--disable-wayland: This switch is required without a full wayland based desktop environment.

--disable-opencv: This switch is required if opencv-3.3.0 is installed without additional modules (specifically bgsegm).
